LIBERTY – Congressman Marcus Molinaro (R, NY-19) is calling on the US Postal Service to take action on mail service issues that have prevented residents in predominantly Jewish communities in Sullivan County from receiving mail.

The representative said over 500 addresses in Liberty, Fallsburg, Thompson, and Bethel have not received their mail for months.

“Despite every effort to get a response from the post office, and by the way, having the local post office make several agreements only to renege on them, this community is left to believe that this has something to do with who they are, not their right to access and receive their mail,” he said.

In a letter to Postmaster General DeJoy, Molinaro wrote that “These residents feel, and I can’t blame them, that it is their faith that has resulted in this treatment. The fact that they would be left with the underlying observation and feeling of antisemitism is incredibly unfortunate, alarming, and the result of your lack of responsiveness.”
