POUGHKEEPSIE – A man who jumped out of his vehicle and climed on a girder on the Mid-Hudson Bridge late Monday afternoon, was talked down byPoughkeepsie Police officers and hostage negotiators.
The man was in distress and when he saw approaching police cars, jumped out of vehicle and ran over to the girder, police said.
The bridge between Poughkeepsie and Highland was closed to all traffic while police conductred a successful intervention.
He was transported to MidHudson Regional Hospital for treatment.
