Two arrested in Monticello following theft of cash

MONTICELLO – Monticello Police have arrested a man on charges of grand larceny and drug possession.

On Tuesday, May 30, Monticello Police received a report of the larceny of $7,500 from a parked vehicle belonging to a contractor at a construction site on Pleasant Street in the village.

Reviewing video surveillance from a nearby business, police were able to identify Glen Flickenschild, 49, of Monticello who was located and arrested on Roosevelt Place. He was still in possession of $1,000 of the stolen cash and was in possession of 5.7 grams of crack cocaine.

At the time of his arrest, Flickenschild was with Lisa Lyons, 43, of Middletown. She was wanted by the Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office on an arrest warrant for petit larceny. She was also in possession of over 500 milligrams of crack cocaine.

Flickenschild was charged with the felonies of grand larceny and criminal possession of drugs.

Lyons was charged with felony drug possession.

Both suspects were arraigned and remanded to the Sullivan County Jail without bail.
