Minor earthquake hits southern Westchester

HASTINGS-ON-HUDSON – An earthquake measuring a 2.2 was recorded by the U.S. Geological Survey in the Hastings-on-Hudson area early Friday morning.

Officials said a rumble like that occurs very rarely in that area. There were no reports of injuries or damage.

The quake was recorded in the Hastings-on-Hudson, Yonkers, and Eastchester areas and as far south as Trenton, New Jersey, the USGS reported.
