NEW YORK- Thea Pecht has been named Senior Vice President, Corporate Communications for the Upstate and Western New York Regions for M&T Bank. Pecht joined M&T in January 2023, serving as spokesperson and overseeing all external communications, public and media relations for Western New York and its 86 branch locations.
In her expanded role, Pecht will also lead corporate communications for Upstate New York, including the Rochester and Finger Lakes Region, Central New York, Southern Tier, Mohawk Valley, Capital Region, and Hudson Valley, along with its 98 branch locations.
Since 2019, Pecht has been a member of the President’s Council and Luncheon Committee for The BISON Children’s Scholarship Fund, a program dedicated to broadening K-12 educational opportunities for kids in Western New York.
She received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Journalism from Michigan State University. Originally from the Detroit, Michigan area, Pecht has worked as a television news reporter for the ABC affiliate in Sacramento, California, and the NBC affiliate in Buffalo, New York.
