Man charged with weapon possession after traffic stop

TOWN OF CRAWFORD – A Brooklyn man was arrested by Crawford Town Police on Wednesday night after he was stopped while driving a 2010 Nissan Maxima for speeding on Route 302.

Investigation showed the vehicle’s registration was suspended.

The driver, Travis Gilmore, 21, was advised he was under arrest at which time he resisted being handcuffed.

Gilmore was taken into custody and during a subsequent search of the vehicle, an unregistered 9 mm handgun was discovered.

He was charged with criminal possession of a weapon, resisting arrest, operating while registration was suspended and several traffic summons.

Gilmore was arraigned and remanded to the Orange County Jail in lieu of $10,000 cash bail pending a future court appearance.
