Mother and father charged in connection with death of 16-month-old baby girl (VIDEO)

LIBERTY – Two Liberty residents were charged Wednesday with criminally negligent homicide in connection with a 16-month-old baby girl who was found in the lobby of the Knights Inn Motel on Route 52 in Liberty on Tuesday night.

Village Police had responded to a report of the child in cardiac arrest. Emergency medical services personnel attempted lifesaving measures and rushed her to Garnet Health Medical Center – Catskills where she was pronounced dead.

Liberty Police, along with State Police and the Sullivan County District Attorney’s Office investigated and later arrested Jimmie Luvert, 41, and Lisa Keitt, 26, also charging them with endangering the welfare of a child.

They were remanded to the Sullivan County Jail, Luvert without bail, and Keitt in lieu of $500,000 cash bail, $1 million secured bond, or $2 million partially secured bond.
