TOWN OF ULSTER – A six-member Town of Ulster jury has found a 28-year-old Saugerties woman guilty of obstructing governmental administration and resisting arrest.

The entire incident that led to the charges and conviction was captured on police body-worn cameras.

The verdict stemmed from a July 19, 2022 incident in which a vehicle driven by Shana Shaw, was involved in a hit-and-run accident.

At the time of the incident, she had an active warrant for a pending criminal matter which also involved resisting arrest.

Ulster Town Police officers located the vehicle with Shaw in it the following day and she pretended not to be herself and was uncooperative with police. She then refused verbal commands to remain at the scene and fled but was apprehended.

When sentenced later this month, Shaw faces a potential sentence of one year in the Ulster County Jail.
