KINGSTON- The HealthAlliance Hospital Gala will be held on Friday, May 5, 2023, at Diamond Mills in Saugerties. This year’s event will support HealthAlliance Hospital’s cancer infusion center and its oncology support program.
Amanda Batista knows the importance of these programs firsthand. Batista was first diagnosed with an aggressive form of breast cancer in 2020 just after she gave birth to her daughter. Even though her mother had worked for the American Cancer Society for 30 years, and she grew up knowing the symptoms of cancer, Batista was unprepared for the weight of such a diagnosis. The support she received at HealthAlliance Hospital’s infusion center made all the difference.
“I wondered whether I would live to see my daughter turn 1, but after my first time at the HealthAlliance Hospital infusion center, I felt like they understood me as a person. They were so thoughtful and caring, and I will never be able to express how grateful I am,” said Batista.
Amanda, who is now two years cancer free, will be among the speakers at the HealthAlliance Hospital Gala.
