KINGSTON – A 70-year-old Denning man was killed when he failed to negotiate a turn as he drove on Route 209 in Accord and struck a telephone pole. The man, whose name was not released by the Ulster County Sheriff’s Office, succumbed to his injuries at MidHudson Regional Hospital in Poughkeepsie.
Deputies said the man was driving in the area of 5116 Route 209 at around 7:50 p.m. on Wednesday, April 26 when the accident occurred.
Deputies were assisted at the scene by State Police, Accord Fire Department, Kerhonkson-Accord First Aid Squad and Mobile Life Support Services.
