TOWN OF CRAWFORD – Pine Bush High School and Crispell Middle School were placed in a “lockdown” situation on Wednesday as law enforcement officers from multiple police agencies investigate an “active incident.”

The schools went into lockdown at approximately 12:40 p.m. on Wednesday, April 26, 2023.

Shortly after the time of the call, first responding officers determined there was no active threat inside the building. Officers continued to systematically conduct a precautionary search of the entire building and a criminal investigation of the incident.

Officers from the Town of Crawford Police Department were assisted at the school by the Orange County Sheriff’s Office and New York State Police.

This was the latest in false threats made to schools in the region and around the nation.

Anyone with information about this or other similar incidents is asked to contact their local police.
