Peekskill woman indicted in NYC car crash that injured five pedestrians

NEW YORK – A 32-year-old Peekskill woman has been indicted in a Manhattan State Supreme Court indictment for crashing a stolen car into five pedestrians including two children and causing serious injuries.

The indictment alleges nine counts of assault and one count of criminal possession of stolen property.

According to court documents and statements, on March 15, Sharon Godwin allegedly plowed her stolen vehicle onto a crowded sidewalk in the area of Broadway and west 190th Street.

Two of the victims suffered broken femurs, one suffered a torn ACL and received several stales, and two others sustained substantial blooding.

After she was arrested, Godwin provided a fake name to the police.
