POUGHKEEPSIE – Dutchess County Comptroller Robin Lois has released an audit of the Community Action Partnership for Dutchess County, Inc. for the calendar years 2019-2021, focusing on contract compliance as well as the Agency’s financial internal control procedures.
The Partnership is a City of Poughkeepsie-based non-profit whose mission is to, “partner with individuals and families to eliminate poverty and identify the resources and opportunities available to them to enhance their self-reliance.”
The audit found that the Partnership has complied with all the material provisions of their contracts and there were no deficiencies identified in their financial internal controls. But Lois did have one criticism.
The comptroller’s office has once again identified that 100 percent of the contracts audited were executed after the term of services began.
“Timely execution of contracts with our community partners continues to be an issue for Dutchess County government. Our office strongly recommends that the County Attorney’s office and the Administration prioritize the identification of causes for late contract execution,” said Lois. “Late execution of contracts equates to late payments to our non-profit agencies that are typically already stressed for cash flow, and they deserve better than that.”
