Davis R. Chant

MILFORD – The death of Davis R. Chant, the founder of Davis R. Chant Realtors, “is a big loss for the greater Pike County Community,” said Milford, Pennsylvania Mayor Sean Strub.

“Dave modeled a gentleness, civility and compassion that made him an exceptional community leader.”

Strub met Chant in 1997, “and despite being on opposite sides of various political, development and other issues at various times, it never interfered with our friendship.”

The mayor also said Chant was “the first major business leader in Pike County who was unequivocally supportive of our local LGBT community and its increasing visibility over the past 25 years, not just supportive, but at times fearlessly calling out others’ intolerance.”

The family at Davis R. Chant Realty issued a statement saying he was a “friend, mentor and truly the most kind and gentle man.” They said, “While this is a tremendous loss, his legacy will live on in our hearts and in the business and community he built.”

His coworkers said they will “miss your smiling face, guidance and warm spirit each and every day. Some of us have been lucky enough to work next to you for 40+ years and we will continue on keeping your vision for Chant Realtors present in our hearts, work and decisions.”
