HIGHLAND- Cornell Cooperative Extension of Ulster County (CCEUC) is holding the 24th Annual Golf Classic on Thursday, May 18, 2023, at Apple Greens Golf Course in Highland, NY.  The tournament raises money for the Ulster County 4-H Youth Development Program, one of the oldest youth organizations in the United States.  Players will join in on a great day of golf, food and excitement, all while surrounded by the panoramic views of Mohonk Mountain and the Shawangunks.  Sign up to play by May 11th.

Registration begins at 7:30 a.m. and the four-person scramble with a shotgun start will begin at 9:00 a.m.  The $125.00 entry fee includes 18 holes of golf with a cart, continental breakfast, snacks and lunch on the course, and an awards dinner following the tournament.  There will be competitions with great prizes awarded to teams for first, second and third place, and much more.

Our programs help young people to develop skills that last a lifetime through planned “learn by doing” experiences.  Ulster County 4-H Youth Development reaches out to young people through programs, field trips and workshops spanning a wide spectrum of interests.  Last year, 358 youngsters, aged 5 to 19, participated in 30 4-H Clubs through the hard work of 65 trained Volunteers.  Over 120 youth demonstrated their knowledge, leadership, communication and other valuable life skills at the Ulster County Fair.  Through the course of the year, youth participated in 58 different project areas, including Community Service, Public Presentations, Environmental Education, Science and Technology and Arts and Crafts.

This fundraiser is possible because of the sponsorships from CCE’s community of supporters including Farm Credit East, Herzog’s Home & Paint Centers, Kingston Plaza, the Ulster County 4-H Teen Council, and Betty Burgher.  This year’s new Solo Sponsors are Marbletown Animal Hospital, TDC Auto Repair, Ulster Savings Bank, Wallkill View Farm, Kiwanis Club of Saugerties, Gardiner Animal Hospital, Phoenicia Diner, and Dixon Roadside. The Tee Sponsors include the Ulster County Fair, Crist Bros, Hi Tec K-9 Academy, and Mid-Hudson Valley Federal Credit Union.
