MONTICELLO – Sullivan County Manager Josh Potosek has named Scott Schulte as the county’s commissioner of Public Safety and the county legislature has confirmed the appointment.
The positive has been vacant since November 2022.
The position is responsible to work with law enforcement to make recommendations for and provide guidance to improve the county’s response to public safety incidents and to ensure the health and safety of residents against terrorist actions and natural disasters.
The legislature said Schulte has the requisite education, experience, and physical fitness to perform the functions of the position.
He will assume the post on May 30.
