TOWN OF POUGHKEEPSIE – Twenty-eight-year-old Corey Hauptman was arrested on several charges following the stabbing of a woman during a domestic incident Sunday evening.
Town of Poughkeepsie Police responded to a Chestnut Street residence for a report of a domestic dispute at 10:42 p.m. Responding officers located a 24-year-old woman with a puncture wound to her lower leg. An officer applied a tourniquet to slow the loss of blood before an ambulance arrived to transport her to a local hospital.
Hauptman was also at the residence when police arrived. Following an investigation, he was taken into custody and transported to police headquarters where he was charged with two counts of assault, criminal possession of a weapon, criminal obstruction of breathing, criminal mischief, and unlawful imprisonment.
He was held until he could be arraigned on Monday, April 17, 2023.
