PLEASANT VALLEY – Bryan Whittle, 47, of Pleasant Valley has been arrested on felony charges after the Dutchess County Drug Task Force executed a search warrant at Whittle’s West Road residence and seized a large quantity of cocaine and fentanyl.  The accused drug dealer, already on federal probation, was arraigned on felony criminal possession of a controlled substance and two felony counts of criminal possession of a weapon and remanded to the Dutchess County Jail without bail.

According to Detective Sergeant Adam Harris, the task force had become aware of fentanyl packages with the Chicago Bulls logo on them that had been recovered at the scene of recent drug overdoses.  During the investigation into the source by the task force and the City of Poughkeepsie Police Neighborhood Recovery Unit, Whittle was identified as the distributor of the drugs.  A search warrant was executed at Whittle’s Country Commons apartment on Friday evening where agents recovered 28 ounces of cocaine, an undisclosed amount of fentanyl, and two ghost guns.

After the raid, Harris told Mid-Hudson News that the task force is not slowing down.  “The Drug Task Force will continue to use all resources available to hold drug dealers accountable.”

The Dutchess County Drug Task Force is made up of officers from the Dutchess County  Sheriff’s Office, the City of Beacon Police, the Town of Hyde Park Police, the Town of East Fishkill Police, and the City of  Poughkeepsie Police.  The task force investigates the sale of drugs throughout the county.  Anyone with information regarding the illegal sale of drugs in Dutchess County is asked to email the task force at DrugTaskForceTips@gmail.com or call them at 845-463-6040.
