CORNWALL – US Senator Kirsten Gillibrand is standing 100 percent behind Ukraine as it continues to defend itself against the invasion by Russia.
While in Cornwall over the weekend, New York’s junior senator said American support is vital for a number of reasons.
“You cannot let countries like Russia whoever they want just because they want more territory. That is against our American values, it’s against the rule of law, and it’s against international stability,” she said. “It’s in our best interest – in America’s best interest – that Russia does not win that war. And we should continue to help the Ukrainians as best we can for as long as they need our help.”
The US is not the only country aiding Ukraine. Several other NATO counties are also contributing weapons and money to stave off the ongoing Russian aggression.
