POUGHKEEPSIE – The Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office Marine Patrol recovered the body of a woman from the Hudson River near the Mid-Hudson Bridge around 10 a.m. on Monday.
Police were alerted that a possible body had been spotted in the river and the marine unit recovered it with the assistance of a Hyde Park Marina employee.
The investigation into the identity and cause of death is continuing by sheriff’s detectives with the Dutchess County Medical Examiner’s Office.
The sheriff’s office was assisted at the scene by the medical examiner’s office, Town of Lloyd Police and Poughkeepsie City Fire Department.
