POUGHKEEPSIE – Despite temperatures in the 40s and a strong wind at the Poughkeepsie waterfront on Wednesday afternoon, two city residents gathered with a few friends to heat things up by getting married.  Medical professional Lori Byrnes and bartender/tattoo artist Charlie McReynolds joined their hands in marriage at a ceremony on the grounds of the former Ice House Restaurant at Waryas Park.

“Yes, the weather was indeed cold, but Lori warms me to the core,” said the new groom.  “I’m thrilled that so many of our friends and family joined us in our much-talked-about but not-seriously-planned exchanging of vows.”

The bride, wearing a sleeveless dress, was shivering during the ceremony until her future husband removed his jacket and wrapped it around her, to the delight of everyone in attendance.  “The jacket thing was just one of the many ways that Charlie warms my heart.  I truly love this man,” said the bride before the couple and family departed for photos and a celebration being held indoors.
