POUGHKEEPSIE – A fire at a multi-family home on Mansion Street Monday afternoon displaced at least two adults and two children.  Poughkeepsie firefighters, assisted by crews from the Arlington and Fairview Fire Departments were at the scene, across from Earline Patrice Park just after 4:00 p.m.

Firefighters encountered flames on the side of the house near the foundation that appeared to be traveling up the exterior of the house.

After knocking down the flames, the career firefighters opened up the side of the house to ensure that the flames had not spread to the interior of the house.

Deputy Poughkeepsie Fire Chief Vincent Parise told Mid-Hudson News that the cause of the fire is under investigation.

The American Red Cross was summoned to the scene to assist the displaced adults and children.
