MONTICELLO – A 20-year-old Monticello man was shot twice late Sunday night when gunfire rang out at Building 17 in the Sleepy Hollow Apartment Complex on Terry Lane in the Village of Monticello.
Sullivan County 911 dispatchers could hear active gunfire while taking the 911 call at around 11:30 p.m.
Monticello officers located the victim in an apartment in the complex. He was transported by Mobile Medic paramedics to an athletic field at Monticello High School where a landing zone was established, and he was flowed to a trauma center for treatment.
Police said the victim was reported in stable condition.
