Central Nyack man charged with intentionally running down pedestrian

HILLCREST – A 48-year-old Central Nyack man has been charged with attempted murder after he allegedly ran over a pedestrian in Hillcrest, Ramapo Town Police said.

The incident occurred around 3:20 p.m. on Thursday, March 9 when the male victim was struck and seriously injured, police said. He was transported to Westchester Medical Center by Spring Hill Ambulance.

The driver of the vehicle, Edward Grigsby, remained on the scene and police determined he had intentionally struck the victim, resulting in the attempted murder charge.

He was arraigned and remanded to the Rockland County Jail in lieu of $75,000.

Ramapo Police were assisted by the Rockland County Sheriff’s Office Bureau of Criminal Investigations, Rockland Paramedic Services and Spring Hill Volunteer Ambulance Corps.
