TOWN OF NEWBURGH – The Montefiore St. Luke’s Cornwall Medical Group held a ribbon cutting Tuesday for a new primary care facility in the Town of Newburgh.

Some 50 people, including physicians, staffers and government officials, crowded into the lobby of the facility where the ribbon cutting was held, due to the blustery weather. The building is located at 1418 Rt. 300, across from the Stop & Shop shopping center.

“We’re happy to bring primary care to the Town of Newburgh,” said Dan Maughan, president and CEO of MSLCH. The facility offers occupational health as well as primary care.

Dr. Uticia Belfield is the medical director of the facility. She said more services will be coming.

Newburgh Town Supervisor Gil Piaquadio presented a welcoming certificate to Maughan and Belfield.

”I’m happy to see Montefiore settling in our town,” Piaquadio said, “filling our primary care needs.”
