GOSHEN – Former Mamakating Town Highway Superintendent Robert Hufcut was sentenced in Orange County Court on Tuesday to 22 years in state prison followed by 20 years of post-release supervision in connection with a sex offender conviction.

District Attorney David Hoovler said the case had to do with course of sexual conduct against a child.

“His conviction resulted after a week-long jury trial where he was convicted of being a predatory sex offender in that he repeatedly molested a small child related to him,” he said.

The jury found that Hufcut had, over a period of not less than three months, engaged in two or more acts of sexual conduct with a child under the age of 13.
