NEW BALTIMORE – A Palenville man has been arrested on charges of leading police on a chase that led to him striking a State Police car, a Greene County Sheriff’s vehicle, and a gas pump on Route 9W in Coxsackie.

Angelo Paradiso, Jr., 29, was charged with reckless endangerment, unlawful fleeing a police officer in a motor vehicle, criminal mischief, DWI, and two counts of reckless endangerment of property.  Paradiso, who refused to give a breath sample, was arraigned and released on his own recognizance pending a future court appearance.

The incident began around 11:15 p.m. on Thursday, March 2 when he refused to pull over for a traffic stop in the  Thruway in New Baltimore.  Troopers deployed tire spikes, which deflated two tires, but Paradiso kept going, turning onto Route 9W where he crashed into a Sunoco parking lot striking a gas pump.  As he tried to flee the parking lot, he struck the police vehicles, but another o used its front push bumper to strike Paradiso’s 2008 Chevrolet Cobalt disabling it.

No injuries were reported.
