New Rochelle man arrested for assaulting 65-year-old

NEW ROCHELLE – New Rochelle detectives have arrested a local man on a warrant for a violent assault on an elderly man that occurred on February 7.

Duane Floyd, 37, of New Rochelle, was charged with felony assault in the attack on the older man.

Floyd was arrested at about 11 p.m. on February 15 when police executed a warrant.

During the investigation, Floyd was also found to have two active non-extraditable warrants from New Jersey for domestic assault and weapons possession, and an Alabama warrant for assault and strangulation.

During the arrest, Floyd was found in possession of an imitation Glock handgun and a black skeleton mask.

He has been a suspect in previous menacing investigations and additional charges are possible in the future, authorities said.
