City of Poughkeepsie releases 2023 Community Development Block Grant application

POUGHKEEPSIE – The City of Poughkeepsie has released its 2023 Community Development Block Grant application, which is available on the city’s website.

The Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) is a federally funded formula-based grant allocated by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development to eligible cities. It provides funds to improve the quality-of-life of low- and moderate-income residents through the planning and development of municipal infrastructure and public amenities.

This grant award allows the city to carry out a wide range of community development activities directed toward program administration, city infrastructure, revitalization of city neighborhoods, rehabilitation of existing housing, homelessness and homeless prevention, youth services, health

services, economic development, and providing community facilities and services.

All applicants are encouraged to contact the Division of Social Development with any questions and to discuss program eligibility.
