NEW YORK – CodersTrust, a global ICT Skills development Institute, and UTC Associates (UTC), a leading technology consulting company located in Manhattan and Dhaka, announced its CEO and Founder Aziz Ahmad participated in the recent Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) lab at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland.

The program focuses on various aspirations of the SDG, which was agreed to by 193 heads of state in New York during the UN General Assembly in September 2015. The goals are to be implemented by their respective countries by December 2030.

Ahmad was invited by the former Senior Advisor of the UN Director General Michael Moller, who is now head of the United Global SDG Index Institute (UNGSII), to present to a selected group of thought leaders from governments, business, science, and media about the lighthouse solution Ahmed had established as ”CodersTrust”, an ICT training institute founded in 2014.

”We witnessed tens of thousands of young male and female graduates who came from underprivileged, underserved, and marginalized communities who had the opportunity to learn career-building skills from CodersTrust and are making a living in the global markets,” said Ahmad.

UN Habitat Director Dyfed Aubrey invited CodersTrust to become an instrumental part of the 44 SDG Cities program to be implemented in Tunisia during 2023. Within the coming weeks, the robust program will involve experts from CodersTrust, including Ahmad, who will become an instrumental part of this platform providing education and jobs for the citizens in Tunisia and migrants.

Nik Gowing, a former lead anchor at BBC World News, drew the following conclusion after attending this year’s SDG lab in Davos. “Inside the SD lab was a rich engine room of experts on radical city solutions from the South and North. One by one they detailed their initiatives for raising the game dramatically on making cities SDG compliant. The blue-ribbon award for relentless determination and vision goes to Roland Schatz. For many years he has tirelessly worked to highlight progress where others could see very little. Now through the UNGSII process, he and his fellow experts are seeing and recording real impact.”

“With wonderful and inspiring people like Mr. Aziz Ahmad, CEO and co-founder of CodersTrust, businessman, investor and philanthropist, our SDG lab in Davos manages to not only talk about amazing solutions, but help to show how to accelerate them,” said Roland Schatz, founder and president of UNGSII. “I am very much looking forward to continuing our cooperation in Tunisia and beyond. Aziz, coming from a poor background, working with humility from rags to riches, not forgetting where he comes from, supporting education of kids and youngsters in Bangladesh, his country of origin, is exactly what the world needs in order to fulfill this year’s motto — SDG17: From Win-Lose to Win-Win.”
