NEWBURGH – Michael L. Fox, assistant professor of Business Law and Pre-Law advisor at Mount Saint Mary College, was recently named the new chair of the Advisory Board for the Food Bank of the Hudson Valley.

As chair, Fox will assist in setting agendas and running Advisory Board meetings, organizing community outreach, and attending events in support of the Food Bank’s initiatives.

As a branch of the Regional Food Bank of Northeastern New York, the Food Bank of the Hudson Valley serves six counties of the Lower Hudson Valley area, including Orange, Dutchess, Ulster, Sullivan, Putnam, and Rockland.

“Food insecurity is a grave problem, right here in our backyards,” Fox said. “I am fortunate and proud to contribute in some small way to the great work of this wonderful organization.”

Typically, Fox says, the food bank can provide as many as four meals for those in need with every $1 donation.

He added, “I’m also excited to see the continued development and building of the Food Bank of the Hudson Valley’s new home, offices, and distribution center in Montgomery. This will increase the capacity of the FBHV’s work here in the Hudson Valley.”
