POUGHKEEPSIE – Lynne Miele-Versaci was recently nominated by the Town of Wappinger Republican Committee to run for the Dutchess County Legislature, representing District 14.  The 51-year-old single mother spent the last seven years as a staffer for then-Senator Sue Serino.  Ms. Miele-Versaci currently serves on the Town of Wappinger Planning Board and also has 16 years of experience with the non-profit community in Dutchess County.

The first-time candidate intends to run on a platform that emphasizes public safety and the economy.  “I will fight to provide our law enforcement with all of the tools necessary to protect our community,” she said.  Pointing to the rising costs of goods and services, the homeowner said “With costs skyrocketing, I, like many of my friends and neighbors, are struggling.  I will work to find cost-saving measures to protect our hard-earned money.”

District 14 encompasses Wards 1,3, and 4 in the Town of Wappinger and Ward 1 in the Town of Poughkeepsie.
