Drugs, guns and cash seized in Operation Final Blow

GOSHEN – Major Port Jervis drug dealer Wayne Smith, 43, pled guilty in Orange County Court on Thursday to conspiracy and criminal possession of a controlled substance and faces 10 to 12 years in state prison when sentenced.

“Operation Final Blow” was designed to disrupt major narcotics trafficking in the City of Port Jervis and surrounding areas, including Pike County, Pennsylvania.

Smith is also being investigated for other narcotics related crimes in the commonwealth.

Search warrants executed during the investigation resulted in the seizure of some two kilograms of cocaine, 74 grams of heroin, 165 grams of fentanyl, 1,600 ecstasy pills and 235 pills containing oxycodone. Several illegally possessed firearms and over $153,000 cash were also seized along with 11 vehicles, four motorcycles and two ATVs.

State, federal and local authorities investigated the case and eventually apprehended Smith.

“My office will continue to prioritize the investigation and prosecution of high-ranking drug dealers who peddle their poison in Orange County,” said District Attorney David Hoovler.
