POUGHKEEPSIE – Feed Hudson Valley, a program of Hudson Valley Agribusiness Development Corporation, is going strong in Dutchess County.

The agency’s executive director, Todd Erling, told the Dutchess County Industrial Development Agency on Wednesday that the program is beneficial to those in need of food as well as farmers.

“Not only are we reducing the waste ands getting consumable food on plates of families in need, and then we are also helping farmers generate the necessary paperwork and recordkeeping in order to take that as a tax deduction,” he said.

In Dutchess, over 68 donors including restaurants, stores and farmers participate in the program.

The agribusiness development corporation represents interests in Dutchess, Orange, Ulster, Sullivan, Rensselaer, Washington and Albany counties.
