Elderly woman charged with forgery, damaging home

CORTLANDT – State Police at Cortlandt have arrested a 73-year-old Cortlandt woman on felony charges of forgery and criminal mischief.

Bertha Bynes was taken into custody on December 29 following an investigation concerning the damage to a victim’s home as well as the forgery of a check belonging to the victim.

Bynes was arraigned and released on her own recognizance pending a future court appearance.
