FISHKILL – Developer Toll Brothers has paid the Town of Fishkill the more than $352,000 it owed for water and sewer service.

The payment satisfies outstanding bills owed to the town by the developer, based on an agreement approved earlier this year to bring to a close the long-standing issue over payment.

Residents have contacted Town Supervisor Ozzy Albra and town board members about this matter for years, expressing concerns that the outstanding charges would be passed onto Toll Brothers residents, an outcome Supervisor Albra and the current town board said they would never consider.

The developer has now satisfied its obligation and the town can now take over ownership of the water and sewer lines, based on the recommendation of town water system operator CAMO Pollution Control.

Included in the agreement, outstanding payments to CAMO Pollution were also provided, and a homeowners’ association was reimbursed for costs for repairs they made to the sewer system during this period.

Councilmember Louise Daniele said she was glad the situation has been resolved, calling the resolution “long overdue.”
