MIDDLETOWN – Going into the new year, the Middletown City budget will see a modest increase.
The general fund budget came in at $45.5 million, said Mayor Joseph DeStefano.
“Water and sewer funds had less spending, but we still had a slight increase in rate of 1.9 percent and the 2023 general fund budget had an increase in spending of about five percent. The rate has not been set yet for ’23, but we anticipate a slight increase also,” he said.
All three budgets passed the common council on unanimous votes.
