Communicated Content – It has been a long and winding road for New York City FC, who have been chasing sustained MLS glory ever since their introduction to the league back in 2015.

As part of the City Football Group, who also own Manchester City and Melbourne City, New York City FC have developed exponentially over the past few seasons and their growth is showing no sign of slowing.

Winning the MLS Cup title in 2021 brought New York City in line with the aforementioned clubs in England and Australia in winning domestic crowns and once again in 2022, New York City FC are one of the front runners in the MLS.

Having finished more than 10 points off the pace in the Eastern Conference, New York City FC haven’t perhaps been at their fluent best this season but they currently sit only 2 games away from MLS Cup glory in 2022.

Philadelphia Union await NYCFC next in the play-off semi-finals, a challenge that should be a real test for Nick Cushing and his men.

Throughout the regular season, Philadelphia Union have been the side to beat in the Eastern Conference and they are the favorites in many quarters to lift the MLS Cup title this term.

New York City FC are famously a very resilient side however and whilst they will need to overcome Union and either LAFC or Austin FC in the final.

Currently, New York City FC are +400 to lift the MLS Cup trophy next month, a testament to the size of the task ahead as per New York Bet.

The aforementioned Philadelphia Union continue to impress week in, and week out and they have been way too good for most of the league so far this term.

Not having won the MLS Cup is the elephant in the room for Philadelphia Union and at +350, plenty of sportsbooks feel Union have work to do if they are to right that wrong.

Los Angeles FC have blitzed the Western Conference so far in 2022 and they have the look of a side that have been preparing for the playoffs in recent weeks.

Finishing 9 points above the chasing pack in the Western Conference, LAFC have had too much about them for most of this season and they will want to assert their dominance with two games to play.

At +120, Los Angeles FC are the strong favorites to lift the MLS Cup, as they chase their maiden MLS Cup triumph.

Finishing off the MLS semi-final lineup is Austin FC, who are in some ways the forgotten side remaining in the competition.

LAFC had too much for them in the Western Conference but they’ve had some excellent results this season and at +700 for MLS Cup glory, Austin FC can’t be discarded.
