MILFORD, PA – Two individuals have been sentenced for engaging in the sale of fentanyl that resulted in the death of a Matamoras, PA man, Pike County District Attorney Ray Tonkin said.

Sarah Turner, 34, of Matamoras, was sentenced to 13 to 26 years in state prison after pleading guilty to drug delivery resulting in death, possession with intent to deliver fentanyl, and delivery of a controlled substance – fentanyl.

Brian McKnight, 30, of Milford, was sentenced to 9 ½ to 40 years after pleading guilty to criminal conspiracy to commit drug delivery resulting in death and criminal conspiracy to deliver a controlled substance – fentanyl.

The case arose from the delivery of fentanyl that caused the death of John Hiatt of Matamoras on November 4, 2020.

The crime occurred in the Tri-State area, which includes adjacent Port Jervis.

A joint investigation by the Pennsylvania State Police Troop Vice Unit, the DA’s Office Criminal Investigation Unit and the Eastern Pike Regional Police Department determined that Turner and McKnight were engaged in the sale of fentanyl in the area from 2019 through January 2021.
