One shot in latest gunfire in New Rochelle

NEW ROCHELLE – A 22-year-old Mount Vernon man was shot several times in front of 345 Main Street in New Rochelle in the early afternoon on Tuesday, city police said.

The man, whose name was not made public, was found by officers conscious and alert on the sidewalk at around 1:12 p.m.

Police, fire and EMS personnel rendered first aid until he was transported to a local hospital where he was listed in stable condition.

New Rochelle detectives believe the victim was the intended target of the shooter.

The investigation is continuing and anyone with information about the incident is asked to call the New Rochelle Police main phone number at 914-654-2300.
