WHITE PLAINS – A New Rochelle man has been sentenced on Tuesday to 17 years in state prison with 20 years of post-release supervision, for engaging in sexual conduct with a child, which resulted in a pregnancy.

Westchester County District Attorney Miriam Rocah said Braulio Ramirez, 49, of New Rochelle started having sex with the victim in October 2019 when she was 11 years old and continued through September 2021. As a result of the statutory rapes, the child became pregnant.

Rocah said during the course of the sexual conduct, Ramirez threatened to burn down the child’s home with her family inside if she reported the abuse.

New Rochelle Police arrested Ramirez on September 29, 2021 following an investigation.

In August 2022., he pled guilty to course of sexual conduct against a child and endangering the welfare of a child. He must also register as a sex offender after completing his prison sentence.
