ALBANY – Joblessness in the City of Newburgh in July was the highest of all municipalities in the Hudson Valley in July, according to the State Labor Department.
Despite the high rate of 5.4 percent, it was down considerably from the July 2021 rate of 7.0 percent.
The lowest rate this past July, 2.6 percent, in the Village of Port Chester, was down from 3.7 percent in July of last year.
The lower rates were reflected across the region, which saw 3.4 percent in July 2022, compared with the July 2021 rate of 4.9 percent.
