TOWN OF DEERPARK – A large contingent of first responders is searching the Delaware River in the Town of Deerpark at Cherry Island after a boat capsized spilling two men into the 59-degree water early this morning.
One was able to swim to shore, but the other is missing and rescue teams from Orange, Sullivan and Pike counties are using sonar and visual surveillance on the river.
Family members of the missing man are waiting along the riverbank in hopes of hearing positive news.
First responders said earlier that the missing man was not wearing a life jacket.
