Suspects sought in stabbing, attempted robbery

NEW ROCHELLE – Police in New Rochelle are looking for two men in connection with the stabbing of another man.

A 41-year-old New Rochelle man told police that at about 12:40 a.m. on Thursday, August 25, he was walking on Station Plaza South when he was approached by two men who tried to take his wallet from his back pocket. He fought them off and fled.

The victim told police he returned a short time later to retrieve property he dropped during the original incident and was accosted again by the same men.

While attempting to flee, one suspect stabbed him in the lower back before he was able to escape again. The injury was superficial and the victim refused medical attention, police said.

One suspect was wearing a hooded sweatshirt and a black face mask. The other wore a red hooded sweatshirt and black face mask.
