KINGSTON – In partnership with Sullivan County, RUPCO is currently administrating a Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) available from the New York State Housing Trust Fund to assist the Sullivan County community with different housing needs.

These funds can assist low-income first-time homebuyers with down-payment and closing costs by providing grants up to $45,000.

They can also assist homeowners in need of housing rehab with grants of up to $35,000 for single-family home repairs and eligible property owners with mobile home replacement grants.

A RUPCO counselor can assist households in navigating the first-time homebuyer process, review credit, and provide referrals to affordable loan options and determine eligibility for grant funding. To learn more about terms and conditions visit: www.rupco.org

“This hybrid program opportunity is essential for Sullivan County to help increase homeownership rates by assisting low to moderate-income first-time buyers, improving existing housing stock through the rehab component, and replacing outdated and underperforming mobile homes throughout the county,” said Faith Moore, RUPCO assistant vice president of Operations.

“The renewed focus on housing, coupled with an upcoming housing plan, underscores Sullivan County’s commitment to improving our housing stock and providing opportunities to our residents in what has become a challenging market for first-time and low-income homebuyers,” Sullivan County Legislator Alan Sorensen, who is a professional planner.
