FALLSBURG – A 32-year-old Liberty man was remanded to the Sullivan County Jail on high bail following an accident and the seizure of a large quantity of drugs.

Fallsburg Town Police said Rehan Khan was driving a vehicle that struck another one, causing injury to the other driver. He then fled on foot but was apprehended a short time later.

Investigation led to the seizure of over 300 marijuana plants, over 120 pounds of harvested marijuana, a stolen .40 caliber handgun, a large amount of ecstasy, several pills, three long guns and over $14,000 in cash.

Following Khan’s arrest on August 7, he was charged with criminal possession of a weapon, felony criminal possession of marijuana, criminal possession of a controlled substance, aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and leaving the scene of a personal injury accident.

He was arraigned and remanded in lieu of $100,000 cash bail, $200,000 bond or $500,000 partially secured bond.

“My officers are committed to keeping the citizens of the Town of Fallsburg safe,” said Police Chief Simi Williams. “This investigation, like many others, is a product of the successful partnership between my office and the district attorney.”
