POUGHKEEPSIE – Two people were arrested Friday just minutes after they stole a car that had the keys in the ignition on Rose Street.  The car’s owner reported the car stolen at 1:15 p.m. and the car was pulled over by an officer three minutes later on South Cherry Street.

Thirty-four-year-old Marquis Johnson and his 33-year-old accomplice Ericka Burnett were charged with felony criminal possession of stolen property.  They were also found with a small amount of crack cocaine and heroin and face misdemeanor drug charges.

The two were released with appearance tickets before the officers were done logging in the evidence.
