NEW WINDSOR – The Town of New Windsor EMS has taken over ambulance service in the Town of Cornwall and Village of Cornwall-on-Hudson.

New Windsor Town Supervisor George Meyers said his town’s EMS has entered into a contract with the Cornwalls.

“They are getting approximately $300,000 a year to answer calls in Cornwall and it’s a three-year contract and will increase each year by, I think, it’s about $20,000. The contract is between the ambulance corps and the two municipalities. I’ve been involved in it and monitoring it very closely,” he said.

Cornwall Volunteer Ambulance Corps announced on June 30 that it was officially closing its doors.

Meyers said New Windsor EMS will be stationing one of its ambulances in Cornwall to provide service to its residents.
