NEW ROCHELLE – Four Newark, New Jersey men were arrested by New Rochelle City Police on a charge of criminal possession of stolen property after the Toyota Highlander SUV they were in was spotted driving with no license plates.

When detectives pulled behind the vehicle in an unmarked police car and attempted to pull it over, the suspects put the vehicle in reverse and rammed the police car, injuring the two officers inside.

Police arrested Tariq Kyam, 56, Alex Carroll, 35, David Fate, 38, and 34-year-old Kymeasha Selph.

Kyam was also charged with injuring a police officer and unlawful fleeing from a police officer.

Kyam, Carroll and Fate are also wanted by Saddle Brook, New Jersey Police for six robberies, one armed robbery, as well as motor vehicle thefts in four counties in New Jersey.

Full extradition warrants back to the Garden State are forthcoming, New Rochelle Police said.
