CATSKILL – Recent tips regarding the 20-year-old case of Audrey Herron prompted State Police divers to search several bodies of water in Greene County last week, with negative results.

State Police say that Herron went missing under “suspicious circumstances.”

On May 5, 2022, the New York State Police in Catskill along with members of the New York State Police Underwater Recovery Team (URT), conducted a search detail at Maurer’s Lake and Potuck Reservoir, which are both located on Schoharie Turnpike in Earlton, and a portion of the Catskill Creek in South Cairo in attempt to locate the remains of Audrey Herron, a 31-year-old married mother of three at the time she went missing on August 29, 2002.

State Police said the recent searches were a result of information that was reported in relation to the Audrey Herron Missing Person Case from 2002.

Herron was last seen driving home from her job as a part-time nurse at the Columbia-Greene Long Term Care Facility in Catskill.  Still wearing her nurse’s scrubs, Herron was driving her black 1994 Jeep Grand Cherokee westbound on State Route 23 in Catskill.

Anyone with information regarding the disappearance of Audrey Herron is asked to call the New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation in Catskill at 518-622-8600.
